Ras Lanuf Oil and Gas Processing Company has announced the successful resumption of operations for the second production line at its polyethylene plant, marking a historic milestone after more than 12 years of inactivity.

The production line officially rejoined operations on Wednesday, significantly enhancing the plant’s output capacity and addressing local market demand for polyethylene, a crucial material in various plastic industries. This strategic move strengthens Libya’s domestic production capabilities and reduces reliance on imports.

Notably, the restoration and maintenance of the production line were carried out entirely by Libyan engineers and technicians, showcasing the remarkable expertise and resilience of the nation’s workforce. This achievement highlights the role of Libyan talent in overcoming challenges and revitalizing critical sectors of the economy.

The successful restart is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Ras Lanuf’s workforce, reflecting their determination to promote excellence and contribute to the country’s industrial growth. The milestone also underscores the importance of investing in local expertise to drive sustainable development within Libya’s oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors.
