President Mahama Urges Africa to “Speak with One Voice” at AOW:Energy 2025

President John Dramani Mahama officially inaugurated AOW:Energy 2025 in Accra, positioning the event as a turning point for African unity in the global energy landscape.

Addressing more than 1,200 delegates, the President emphasized that Africa must “speak with one voice” to shape its own resource future, strengthen regional cooperation, and deliver prosperity through natural resource development.

Mahama praised the role of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC) — now celebrating 40 years of service — as a pillar of national pride and a driver of socio-economic growth. He also acknowledged the support of global partners such as ExxonMobil, Chevron, ENI, Seplat, FIRST E&P, Oando, and TGS.

“This is more than a conference,” Mahama declared. “AOW:Energy is a platform designed by Africa, for Africa—one that aligns our goals and creates shared success for our people.”

The President closed with a pledge to strengthen momentum toward AOW:Energy 2026, ensuring the event remains a platform for showcasing Africa’s upstream story on the world stage.
