OMV resumes operations in Libya after 13 years

OMV, the Austrian oil company, has resumed its exploration activities in Libya, focusing on Block (106/4) in the Sirte Basin, where drilling is underway on the B1-106/4 exploration well, also known as "Muamal Eissar."

The drilling of this well is overseen by Zueitina Oil Company, with the final depth expected to reach 10,130 feet (3,087 meters) upon completion.

The return of international companies like OMV aligns with the National Oil Corporation’s strategy to boost Libya's oil reserves. This milestone reflects a series of actions and achievements that have paved the way for OMV and other companies to resume their activities in Libya.
