The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) and Zallaf Libya for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production have recently held a coordination meeting to discuss securing an electrical energy source for the South Refinery project. This meeting marks a significant step forward in the collaborative efforts between the two organizations to enhance energy infrastructure in the southern region of Libya.

Technical departments from both GECOL and Zallaf participated in the meeting, which focused on the feasibility of utilizing the fuel supply pipeline of the Ubari gas station. This pipeline, which runs close to the refinery site, was identified as a potential source for supplying crude oil to the refinery, thereby ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply for the project.

GECOL emphasized that this initiative is part of a broader framework of cooperative efforts between the National Oil Corporation (NOC) (Zallaf) and GECOL. The shared objective of these efforts is to improve services and infrastructure for the residents of the southern region, contributing to the overall development and stability of the area.

The discussions underscore the importance of integrated energy solutions and the role of strategic partnerships in advancing Libya's energy sector. Both GECOL and Zallaf are committed to working together to achieve these goals, demonstrating a proactive approach to addressing the region's energy needs.

Further updates and developments are expected as the project progresses, with both organizations pledging to maintain open communication and collaboration to ensure the successful implementation of the South Refinery project.
