London, June 17 (The Energy Circle) - Etu Energias has successfully acquired Galp Energia’s working interests in several prolific offshore blocks in Angola. This includes a 5% stake in Block 32, 9% in Block 14, and 4.5% in Block 14K. These blocks are among Angola’s most productive, with Block 32 alone being one of the largest producers since its start in 2018. The strategic purchase highlights Etu Energias' commitment to expanding its deepwater oil production capabilities and diversifying its portfolio.
Etu Energias' CEO, Edson R. Dos Santos, praised the collaboration that made this acquisition possible, highlighting it as a pivotal moment for the company. This move not only demonstrates Etu Energias’ resilience but also aligns with its growth strategy in the oil and gas sector.
Etu Energias, previously known as Somoil, is Angola’s largest private oil and gas company. With this acquisition, Etu Energias further strengthens its presence in the region, adding to its extensive portfolio of onshore and offshore assets, including Blocks 3/05, 3/05-A, 4/05, and 17/06.
