The Chairman of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), Engineer Masoud Suleiman, hosted the European Union Ambassador to Libya, Mr. Nicola Orlando, and his delegation at the NOC headquarters in Tripoli.

During the meeting, both parties engaged in extensive discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation between the NOC and the European Union. The dialogue centered on advancing mechanisms to further develop Libya’s oil sector in line with the NOC’s established strategies and plans.

Engineer Masoud announced that the NOC is preparing to launch a public tender for oil exploration in the near future. He invited European oil companies to invest in Libya alongside other international firms. He reiterated that Europe continues to be a vital partner in Libya’s oil sector and expressed the NOC's ambition to broaden partnerships across various sectors, including oil and gas production and related industries.

Furthermore, Engineer Masoud highlighted the corporation's immediate priorities: preserving stability within the sector and steadily increasing daily production rates to meet long-term objectives over the coming years.

EU Ambassador Orlando praised the performance and accomplishments of Libyan professionals in the oil sector. He reaffirmed the EU's strong support for maintaining the stability of Libya’s oil industry and expressed a desire to enhance collaboration with the NOC. The ambassador also emphasized the EU’s interest in expanding cooperation to include renewable and alternative energy projects.
